Southern NJ, March 1 2017— The Small Business Administration (SBA) has certified IPAK, Inc. as a HUBZone small business effective February 24, 2017. The Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) Program’s purpose is to increase employment opportunities, investment, and economic development in underserved areas. Federal agencies and certain prime contractors have a statutory 3 percent contracting goal to HUBZone businesses.
Historically, it has been difficult to meet these goals in part due to the scarcity of qualified HUBZone companies. As of February 2017, the Congressional Research Service lists only 6,026 entities. The ardent certification process takes months to complete and includes a thorough background check on the company’s history, physical location, and employees, of which 35% must reside in a designated census tract typically tied to income and high unemployment.
In addition to their HUBZone status, IPAK is a federally certified Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB).
For the last 24 years, IPAK has been delivering effective education, strategic communication and marketing products, services and technologies to commercial and government organizations. Its customized solutions include packaging, printing, fulfillment and distribution, technology, training, and video content. Extensive in-house manufacturing, seasoned personnel and a focus on continual process improvement allows IPAK to respond to market needs with innovation and speed while maintaining quality.
