May 3, 2016 – West Deptford, NJ — On May 7, 2016, IPAK, Inc. will be attending the 3rd annual An Evening For Hope Gala in support of The Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The Children’s Inn, located in Bethesda, MD, is a private, nonprofit home for families who are participating in pediatric research at the NIH’s Clinical Center. The Gala, held at the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner, VA, draws top technology firms, government health agencies, and organizations like IPAK who work closely with pharmaceutical and healthcare companies. IPAK is a sponsor for the event, contributing towards the night’s silent auction. Funds raised go towards housing, resident services, family support programs, and general funding costs for the Inn.
IPAK made a recent visit to the Inn and the impact was poignant. “Walking through the doors at the Children’s Inn at NIH is quite humbling,” says Joe Schreiber, Managing Partner. “One immediately feels a sense of responsibility to join those companies and people who routinely volunteer their time to make it easier on families affected by illness.”
The Children’s Inn began in 1990, with the idea to create a “homelike environment where families could stay together, for free, while their children were undergoing treatment at the National Institutes of Health” according to the organization. Today the Inn continues to expand its operations, helping over 12,000 ill children and their families since opening.
IPAK’s values include community outreach and improvement, but experiencing the atmosphere and mission of the Children’s Inn “Inspired us to go further and do our part,” says Schreiber. In response, IPAK made a $10 thousand dollar donation towards An Evening For Hope’s silent auction. IPAK will be sending several representatives to the event. The company looks forward to this and many more opportunities to support such an important organization.
